SELVERKLÆRING
VIATICUM GALLERY
TATTOO & PIERCING – CLIENT CONSENT & BOOKING TERMS
This declaration applies to all tattoo and piercing services provided by Viaticum Gallery.
HYGIENE & SAFETY
Viaticum Gallery guarantees that all equipment, gloves, needles, inks, and jewelry used during tattoo and piercing procedures are sterile, single-use where applicable, and handled according to strict hygiene, decontamination, and sterilization protocols.
All materials comply with applicable EU and Norwegian regulations, and the studio is inspected and approved by the relevant local health authorities.
MEDICAL DISCLOSURE
You must inform your artist or piercer of any medical condition, medication, allergy, or circumstance that may affect the procedure or healing process. This includes, but is not limited to:
Diabetes, immune system conditions, pregnancy or breastfeeding, epilepsy, history of fainting, blood disorders, skin disorders, keloid scarring, allergies, infectious diseases, recent or current use of isotretinoin or antibiotics, alcohol or drug use, and failure to eat prior to the procedure.
Failure to disclose relevant information may increase risk and releases Viaticum Gallery and the performing artist from responsibility related to such undisclosed conditions.
DESIGN, PLACEMENT & CLIENT APPROVAL
Tattoo stencils and piercing markings are placed carefully based on the client’s anatomy, proportions, and body movement, and are reviewed together with the client prior to the procedure.
By approving the stencil, placement, spelling, dates, symbols, size, and orientation, the client confirms that all visible details are correct and accepts responsibility for the final approved design and positioning. Once the procedure has begun, the studio cannot be held responsible for errors present in the approved stencil or markings.
Any artistic or professional advice is offered solely in the client’s best interest. Viaticum Gallery has no benefit in advising against a client’s requested design or placement.
HEALING, RISKS & EXPECTATIONS
Tattooing and piercing involve skin trauma and carry inherent risks.
For tattoos, risks may include infection, irritation, swelling, allergic reactions, ink loss, color variation, prolonged healing, and permanent scarring.
For piercings, swelling, redness, discharge, and bleeding are normal parts of the healing process, and healing times vary significantly depending on placement and individual anatomy.
Healing outcomes vary depending on anatomy, placement, aftercare, and individual response. Specific healing or aesthetic results cannot be guaranteed.
Natural anatomical characteristics, tissue behavior, movement, clothing interaction, and healing changes may affect the final appearance and do not constitute error or grounds for liability.
Personal dissatisfaction or changes in taste after approval or after the procedure are not the responsibility of Viaticum Gallery.
HIGH-WEAR AREAS
Certain areas (including hands, fingers, feet, knees, elbows, and similar locations) are subject to increased wear and healing challenges. Retouching or adjustments in these areas are not included unless otherwise agreed and may involve additional cost.
Fine Line Tattoos
Fine line tattoos involve very thin lines, which may lose some ink during the healing process. As a result, touch-ups are often required. Touch-ups can be performed no earlier than 4 weeks after the tattoo, once the skin has healed sufficiently.
UNIQUE ART, TECHNIQUE & APPRENTICE WORK
Apprentice Work
Appointments with apprentices are offered at a reduced price due to their level of experience. While all apprentice work is supervised and performed with care, minor imperfections may occur after the healing period. These can typically be corrected with a touch-up after 4 weeks.
Craftsmanship & Uniqueness
Tattooing is a handcrafted process. Every tattoo is unique, and small variations in line, shading, or texture are normal. No tattoo can be expected to be an exact replica of reference images or previous work.
AFTERCARE RESPONSIBILITY
Following aftercare instructions is essential. Complications resulting from incorrect aftercare, third-party advice, or interference with the healing process are the responsibility of the client.
PIERCING INFORMATION
Piercing healing times vary. Jewelry downsizing or adjustments may be required during healing and may involve additional cost. Removal of jewelry before full healing may result in closure of the piercing.
AGE REQUIREMENTS
For piercing, clients must meet the legal age requirements under Norwegian law.
For tattooing, clients must be 18 years of age or older, with no exceptions.
Valid identification may be required.
PERSONAL OPINIONS & THIRD-PARTY INFLUENCE
Changes in opinion, taste, or satisfaction resulting from comments or influence from friends, family, partners, or third parties after approval or after the procedure are not the responsibility of Viaticum Gallery and do not constitute grounds for refund, modification, or liability.
PHOTOGRAPHY
You consent to photographs of your tattoo or piercing for documentation and portfolio use, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
DEPOSITS & BOOKINGS
A non-refundable deposit is required to secure an appointment. Approximately 1/3 of the final tattoo price. Piercing appointments do not require deposit.
The tattoo appointment may be rescheduled up to two (2) times. All rescheduled appointments must take place within three (3) months of the original booking date. After two reschedules or after the three-month period has passed, the deposit is forfeited.
Deposits cover booking time, artist preparation, custom design work, and administrative handling. Design work is performed in advance and remains payable even if the appointment is cancelled.
In exceptional circumstances, such as death of an immediate family member or serious injury, Viaticum Gallery may, at its discretion, allow the deposit to be transferred to a later date or refunded. All such cases are assessed individually and may require reasonable documentation. No other circumstances qualify for deposit refund.
LATE ARRIVALS, ARTIST TIME & NO-SHOWS
Appointments are scheduled to begin at the agreed time. If a client arrives significantly late, the artist’s time is still reserved and will be charged accordingly, as preparation and scheduling have already taken place.
Depending on availability, a late arrival may result in:
-
A shortened session, or
-
Additional payment if the session extends beyond the originally booked time
Late cancellations, repeated rescheduling, late arrivals, or no-shows may result in loss of the deposit. Late arrivals may also result in cancellation if the session cannot be reasonably completed.
ADMINISTRATIVE & COMMUNICATION TIME
Time spent on email correspondence, booking adjustments, documentation, and handling cancellation or refund requests is included in the deposit and is non-refundable.
FEEDBACK & DISPUTES
Clients are encouraged to contact Viaticum Gallery directly with any concerns so they can be addressed professionally.
FINAL DECLARATION
By requesting, booking, confirming, or attending an appointment—whether made online, in person, by telephone, email, social media (including Instagram), messaging platforms, or through any other communication or booking channel—or by signing this form, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to the terms above.
You accept full responsibility for the accuracy of your disclosures, your approvals, your aftercare, and your healing process, and you release Viaticum Gallery and its artists from liability to the fullest extent permitted by Norwegian law.
If any provision, section, subsection, clause or phrase of this release is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that portion shall be severed from this contract. The remainder of this contract will then be construed as though the unenforceable portion had never been contained in this document.
