Custom Tattoo Design
A custom tattoo is not picked from a wall. It is created from scratch around your idea, your body and your story — by artists with over 10 years of experience and international awards behind them.
What is a custom design?
A tattoo that exists nowhere else
Custom tattoo design is a collaboration between you and your artist. You bring the idea, the meaning and the references; the artist brings composition, technique and an understanding of how ink ages on skin.
The result is an original piece drawn specifically for you — sized and shaped to flow with the muscles and curves of the area you choose, and built to still look sharp in twenty years.
- —Unique to you: the finished design is not sold or tattooed on anyone else
- —Designed for the body: it follows your anatomy instead of fighting it
- —Built to last: linework, spacing and contrast planned to heal and age well
- —Personal meaning: symbols, dates, memories or names woven into the design

The process
From idea to finished tattoo
Every custom piece follows the same careful path, so there are no surprises on the day.
Share your idea
Send us a booking request with your concept, preferred placement, approximate size, colour or black & grey, and a few reference images.
Consultation
Talk it through with your artist — in person or online. Together you refine the concept, style, size and how it will sit on your body.
Secure your date
Once the idea is clear, you book your session. A deposit reserves the artist’s time for drawing and tattooing.
Your design is drawn
Your artist creates the artwork from scratch, balancing your idea with what works technically on skin.
Review & fine-tune
You go through the design with your artist. Small adjustments to size and details are made so the stencil fits you perfectly.
Tattoo day
The stencil is placed, checked in the mirror, and your one-of-a-kind tattoo comes to life — followed by clear aftercare guidance.

Before you book
How to write a great design request
The clearer your brief, the closer the first draft will be to what you imagine.
Include as much of this as you can:
- —The idea & its meaning: what the tattoo should represent or feel like
- —Placement: a photo of the body area helps us plan the flow
- —Approximate size: in centimetres, or compared to your hand
- —Style: fine line, realism, blackwork, dotwork, traditional
- —Colour or black & grey: or let the artist advise
- —3 – 5 reference images: and tell us what you like about each one
- —Must-haves & no-gos: elements to include and things to avoid
- —Existing tattoos nearby: so the new piece complements them
Not sure yet? That’s fine — bring a feeling or a theme, and your artist will help shape it.

Pricing, deposits & design rights
Pricing
The price of a custom tattoo depends on size, detail, placement and the time needed. Your artist will give you an estimate after the consultation. Read our guide: How much does a tattoo cost in Oslo?
Deposit
A deposit is required to book a custom design. It secures your appointment and covers the artist’s drawing time, and is deducted from the final price of your tattoo.
Design rights
Your design is created for you to wear. Out of respect for the artist’s work, the artwork itself remains the artist’s, and designs are not sent out for use at other studios.
Before your appointment
Sleep well, eat a proper meal, stay hydrated, avoid alcohol for 24 hours and keep the area free from sunburn. First tattoo? Read our First Tattoo Guide
